This burgundy velvet tie was exactly the color we were looking for, not a purple burgundy but more of a deep red burgundy. It looked fantastic on my new son-in-law in the wedding. The only downside is that the dye bled onto his white shirt by the end of the evening. It was an outdoor wedding with high humidity, so I don't know if that was a factor but his shirt was pink in the front by the end of the evening.
